At the time of David's greatest failure, we read: "...at the time of year when kings usually go to war, David sent out Joab with his officers and the Israelite army...but David himself stayed in Jerusalem." Instead of wearing his sword taking on the enemy, David was sitting home alone. Boredom made him vulnerable. He recognized the enemy on the battlefield. But he failed to recognize the enemy from his balcony.

If you've made Jesus Christ the Leader of your life, you need to be in a Circle of Swords; a group of godly friends who can look you in the eye and ask you hard questions.
